Badger badger badger illustration by Laura Brotherwood

Welcome to Brotherwood

Art and stories inspired by the quiet magic of British nature.

Mr Squirrel_edited.jpg

Painting a bit of the British wild & a few of our household friends.

Sometimes the most extraordinary wonders are the ones we pass by on quiet walks or in the corners of our own gardens. I paint the small, wild moments of British nature, tangled hedgerows, cottage‑garden chaos, wandering creatures, and the pets who share our homes.

Brotherwood Studio grew from this love of the everyday outdoors,  an illustrated world rooted in my own garden, where hedgerows whisper, household friends roam, and the wonderfully wild have stories to tell.

Notes from the Garden & Beyond

Enjoy monthly 'Notes from the Garden and Beyond', for everyone who loves muddy boots, mornings in the garden, and the chaos of British nature - and for those who suspect there might be more going on beneath the leaves.

"There is genuine thrill in receiving this 'Snail Mail' from Laura Brotherwood. Every detail feels like a hidden gem, a clever tactile journey that brings a sense of wonder back to the mailbox.
